Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art is pleased to announce an exhibition of one of the most important ceramic sculptors of our time
JUN KANEKO: SOLO, November 1 –
December 21, 2013.

This rare opportunity to experience the oeuvre of renowned artist, Jun Kaneko, will coincide with the debut of the Kansas City Lyric Opera’s presentation of Kaneko’s production design for, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, November 9, 13, 15, 17. The Magic Flute is Kaneko’s third opera and will be the first to be performed in Kansas City.

Kaneko’s mesmerizing vision is an aesthetic blend of Japanese and American sensibilities, technical tour-de-force and visual pleasure. From his studio in Omaha, Nebraska, Kaneko manifests endless creativity in a multi-faceted approach to material and presentation.

SOLO will display the range and stature of his artistic vision through paintings, bronzes, and ceramic sculptures while The Magic Flute will bring his sensibilities to life on the stage.
